Savji Dholakia — Surat-based billionaire and diamond trader, known for his generosity will give a car as a Diwali gift to his 600 employees. Dholakia — the owner of Hare Krishna Exporters, had earlier given his three employees Mercedez Benz SUVs for completing 25 years in his company.
The SUVs were handed over to the employees in a ceremony in Surat in August this year. Those who were given the expensive cars had joined the companies when they were teenagers.
Dholakia has always been in the news for giving expensive gifts to his employees. On Diwali 2018, he is likely to gift cars to 600 employees as Diwali bonus. Some media reports have also said that he will give jewellery and flats to some other employees of the company.
Known for his benevolent Diwali gifts to his employees, Dholakia in the past has presented thousands of cars and flats to his well-performing staffers with the company bearing part of the monthly installments.
Expensive Diwali bonuses and gifts have been an annual ritual at Hare Krishna Exports.
In 2016, he gave a Diwali bonus worth Rs 51 crore to his employees. He also presented 1,260 cars along with 400 flats to his employees. “Gifts in my company are offered on the basis of employees performance and long-term association,” quoted Dholakia.
Dholakia’s firm — employs around 5500 people and has an annual turnover of Rs 6000 crore.
The diamond merchant, who belongs to Dudhala village in Amreli district in Saurashtra region, has established and nurtured his business using a loan from his uncle.
