Saurashtra skipper Jaydev Shah has called time on his cricketing career. He is the son of former BCCI administrator Niranjan Shah.
Jaydev was part of the Rajasthan Royals squad when they won the inaugural Indian Premier League title way back in 2008. He was part of the now defunct Gujarat Lions when he was purchased for a base price of Rs 20 lakh in 2017.

Having decided to call it quits mid-season into the Ranji Trophy, Saurashtra’s fifth-round fixture against Karnataka would thus be his last game.
The 35-year old has so far featured in 115 first-class matches where he has scored 4,927 runs with nine hundreds and 18 fifties. He has been Saurashtra’s highest run-scorer this season with 326 runs in four games where he averages 65.2.
He has had his struggles in the limited-overs formats in the 60 List A and 36 T20 matches he has played for his state.
