Saumya Tandon who plays the role of Anita Bhabhi in ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain’ has decided to bid adieu to the popular TV show. After 5 long years, the actress will be quitting the show, she also revealed that tomorrow (August 21st, 2020) will be her last day at the shoot.
In an interview with Times Of India, Saumya revealed the reason behind her decision of quitting of the show, she said, “Well, you can say that it’s an impractical decision to quit a stable job, that too, in an established show. But, I realized that being employed and earning a regular income was not exciting enough anymore. I want to do projects where there is scope for growth as an artiste. Having said that, it does not mean that ‘Bhabi Ji…’ did not contribute to my growth, I had a beautiful journey on the show. However, I have played this character for five years now, and I don’t see myself doing it for another five years.”
The actress stated that quitting the show was not an impulsive decision, however, she revealed that she was anxious after her hairdresser tested COVID-19 positive and did not want to put her mother and one-and-a-half-year-old son at risk.
Talking about her beautiful journey on the show, “It does not mean that ‘Bhabi Ji…’ did not contribute to my growth, I had a beautiful journey on the show. However, I have played this character for five years now, and I don’t see myself doing it for another five years,” said Saumya.
