Acclaimed artist, architect, sculptor, and writer Satish Gujral passed away on Thursday at the age of 94 in Delhi after a prolonged illness. Gujral was the brother of the late Prime Minister I.K. Gujral and was awarded India’s second-highest civilian honor, the Padma Vibhushan, in 1999. Born in Lahore in 1925, Gujral had witnessed the misery and horror of Partition. Satish Gujral Ji was versatile and multifaceted. He was admired for his creativity as well as the determination with which he overcame adversity. His intellectual thirst took him far and wide yet he remained attached with his roots. Saddened by his demise. Om Shanti.
