Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel birth anniversary: Political leaders & ministers pay rich tribute
On the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) party has organised a run — Rashtriya Ekta Daud — in Delhi today. In this event, several BJP ministers also took part.
There are several leaders who offered floral tribute to India’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which includes, President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and a host of dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the same day unveiled his ambitious project and dedicated to the nation the world’s tallest — 182-metre statue of Vallabhbhai Patel — the ‘Statue of Unity’ at Kevadiya, Narmada district in Gujarat.

Notably, the central government observes October 31 all over the country as a day of a special occasion to foster and reinforce the government’s dedication to preserve and strengthen unity, integrity and security of the nation by celebrating it as a ’Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Patel.
