Sara Ali Khan’s debut film ‘Kedarnath‘ has released in theaters and has garnered much love from fans. The Abhishek Kapoor directorial, that has been facing innumerable hurdles before its release, is once again being dragged into a new controversy. Now, a case has been filed against the romantic drama set against the background of the 2013 Uttarakhand flash floods.
A case has been filed in a local court at Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh against the Bollywood film. A petitioner, going by the name of Siddhartha Singh has objected to the film, due to its passionate love scenes, alleged promotion of love jihad and obscene dance sequences in the backdrop of a major disaster. He has named the main lead Sushant Singh Rajput, Sara Ali Khan, and director Abhishek Kapoor. The court has fixed January 17 as the next date of hearing.
On December 6, the Uttarakhand high court had dismissed a PIL seeking a ban on the movie on the grounds that it hurts Hindu sentiments. The petition was dismissed by a division bench of Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Ramesh Khulbe.
‘Kedarnath’ marks the debut of Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara Ali Khan in Bollywood and is a love story of Mansoor (Sushant Singh Rajput), a porter and Mukku (Sara Ali Khan), daughter of a Hindu priest. It has managed to collect around 27,75,00,000 over the weekend and 32 crores in four days.
