As the counting of votes for the five states assembly elections 2018 is underway, and BJP seems to lose in three states including Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, Sanjay Raut reacted on trends.
Congress is being applauded for the projected win but Shiv Sena Member of Parliament Sanjay Raut called it an anger of people.
Reacting to the trends showing on television pertaining to Assembly elections result, Sanjay Raut told news agency ANI, “I won’t say these are victories of Congress but this is an anger of the people. Self-reflection is needed.”
Exit polls have mostly forecast a tough fight between the ruling BJP and the Congress in Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring Chhattisgarh, while many of them have projected a clear majority to the Congress in Rajasthan.
Talking about Telangana, exit polls have been divided between the TRS and the Congress-led opposition alliance. If these forecasts hold true, the Congress which has been losing state after state since the 2014 elections — of the 22 states that went to polls after 2014, Congress has won, on its own, only two, Punjab in 2017 and Puducherry in 2016 — will get a booster shot in the run-up to the 2019 elections.
“We are confident of forming the government with full majority in Rajasthan. Its a big verdict against the BJP ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” says Congress leader Sachin Pilot.
Rajnath Singh, Union Home Minister has congratulated the parties that are winning across the five states in the state Assembly elections 2018. However, he says that the Mahagathbandhan has failed “terribly” in Telangana.
