Food Network star Sandra Lee and Andrew Cuomo part ways

After dating for more than a decade, Andrew Cuomo and Sandra Lee have finally announced their split on Wednesday, reported The New York Times. The official announcement of their separation comes months after The New York Post reported that the couple were living separately.

A source close to Andrew Cuomo and Sandra revealed that the couple decided to split but will always be as a best friend. Notably, this was not Cuomo’s first marriage, he shares three daughters with his first wife Kerry Kenney, whom he separated in 2005.

In May Lee told the newspaper that she does not want to sell the New Castle, that they have been sharing since 2008. The 1950s Colonial, which she nicknamed “Lily Pond,” was originally listed at $2 million but the price has since been reduced to $1.69 million.

According to The New York Times, they decided to downsize because Cuomo’s three daughters are now adults. Lee owns the home but Cuomo has said in the past they share living expenses.

Confirming their split, they stated is a statement which reads, “Over the recent past, we have realized that our lives have gone in different directions and our romantic relationship has turned into a deep friendship.”

“We will always be family and are fully supportive of each other and dedicated to the girls. Our personal lives remain personal and there will be no further comment,” the couple added.
