Sampark for Samarthan: Shah to meet Madhuri, Lata and Tata today
BJP chief Amit Shah will meet Uddhav Thackeray today that is on Wednesday, 6th June 2018. “Shah sought Uddhavji’s appointment and will meet the Shiv Sena president at Matoshree at 6pm,” Sena leader Sanjay Raut added.
BJP general secretary Bhupendra Yadav said in New Delhi that Shah was to visit Mumbai to meet prominent citizens and also decided to call on Thackeray. “Since he will be in the city to meet prominent citizens, he will also have a meeting with the Sena chief. Nevertheless, the party president will be in Chandigarh to discuss strategy for the 2019 polls,” added Yadav.
Shah’s prominent reason to be in Mumbai is for BJP’s nationwide campaign ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ which is a pro-people policy by PM Modi. Hence Shah is schedule to call on Lata Mangeshkar, Ratan Tata and Madhuri Dikshit too said the source to TOI. The party conclave is suppose to be in Bandra where Shah will begin his tour with a speech.
Recently, Sena chief Uddhav Thackray made a comment saying that BJP leaders not paying periodic visits to Matoshree as did LK Advani, Pramod Mahajan, Sushma Swaraj and Gopinath Munde during the Vajpayee-Bal Thackeray era. Only on Monday, the state BJP executive, at its meeting in the city, had asked party workers to be prepared to contest the next election on their own strength. Looking at this it feels if Shah visits Matoshree then that will be a saga for Uddhav, revisiting the earlier meets.
After the Palghar Lok Sabha bypoll, BJP-Sena compatibility is not doing well. Also, Thackeray accused CM Devendra Fadnavis of instigating BJP workers to win the seat at all costs.
Shah, known for his blunt bytes, will have to comfort the Sena, which has 18 LS seats, he said. Where as, Thackeray will have to display flexibility as the Sena equally needs the BJP to smash the Congress-NCP’s attempts to return to power in Maharashtra, he added.
Uddhav may, in the next few weeks, demand one more Union ministership of cabinet rank in the Modi regime, sources said. The Sena has, since 2014, had one cabinet rank portfolio.
There will also be a meeting of the alliance in Patna on Thursday, in which Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan is likely to be present along with other leaders, including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and deputy CM Sushil Modi. Modi had on Tuesday acknowledged Kumar as the NDA’s face in Bihar a move towards sending the message that the party values alliance partners.
