Chingari has unveiled its’ first-ever crypto-token, ‘$GARI’. The unveiling was done at a public event held at Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai. Salman Khan has recently announced the launch of his static NFTs on Bollycoin. He will be the brand ambassador for Chingari’s $GARI token reward programme.
In the pictures from the event, Salman Khan can be seen accompanied by his bodyguard Shera. The Bharat star is looking dashing in a red-and-black printed suit. He was also seen dancing with some kids.
Salman Khan said, “The creators are shaping the future of entertainment. With the incorporation of the $GARI reward program, the creators will further get motivated to create newer and more engaging videos on the Chingari app. It’s going to be an interesting journey hereon.”
The crypto token has been developed in collaboration with the Solana blockchain. $Gari is being advertised as a social token instead of a financial token. Creators will be able to accumulate coins based on their content.
For the unversed, Chingari, offers customized videos, an extensive song library and content in more than 20 languages. It has around 50 million monthly active users and almost 85 million downloads to date. With this foray, Chingari has reportedly become India’s first social network to issue crypto tokens. The short video app from India was founded in November 2018 in Bengaluru. It rivals the likes of Instagram’s Reels, MX Takatak, Josh, and Moj.
