Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Thursday visited Arunachal Pradesh to inaugurate an Adventure festival in the state.
Khan attended the conclusion ceremony of Dalmia MTB Arunachal Hornbill’s Flight 2018 and also inaugurated the Mechuka Adventure festival, which kicked off from Thursday itself.
According to a report in the DNA, the “Bharat” actor reached Dibrugarh airport in Assam at around 2 pm in the afternoon from where he took a helicopter to visit Mechuka, where the festival is being held. He was invited to the festival by Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, who is a good friend of Khan.
The Bollywood superstar and Box Office king participated in the MTB Arunachal Mountain bicycle race along with the north-eastern state’s CM and minister Rijiju. They could be seen cycling across the hills and were followed by few racers, who were present at the venue.
Kiren Rijiju later took to social media to thank the actor for his generosity and kindness with a heartwarming message.
Both Rijiju and Salman seems to have a great camaraderie between themselves. Earlier also Salman had accepted the minister’s “#HumFitTohIndiaFit” challenge. The 52-year-old had shared a video in which he can be seen cycling as a part of his exercise to remain fit.
The Union minister Rijiju, according to DNA, informed that the actor has donated an amount of Rs 22 lakh to the north-east state.
“We have to identify certain areas which will be the hallmark in promoting tourism for the people of the state. Adventure tourism can be promoted through this kind of cycling event to make the state a future tourism destination,” he said.

The event would cover a distance of 650 km and will be held in seven stages. Around 80 bikers from 10 different countries like USA, Portugal, Canada, Germany, etc. The winner will be handed a prize money of Rs 22.55 lakh.
The cyclists will cover eight districts and will make night halt at Ziro, Raga, Daporijo, Basar, Kamba and Yapik before culminating it at Mechuka,” MTB Director Rajesh Thakur said.

On the work front Khan will next be seen in the film “Bharat” alongside actress Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and Tabu. The film is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and is set to hit the cinema screens on June 5, 2019.
