Bollywood and the TV industry have been highly affected owing to the pandemic Coronavirus outspread. Due to the second wave COVID-19 in India, many filmmakers delayed releasing their much-anticipated projects. On the other side, Salman Khan recently released his film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai in pay-per-view format and apparently it also made impressive profits. The actor is yet again in talk for releasing his upcoming-Antim in the same format. Not just SK, Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan might also head for a similar release. According to the latest reports, the producers of both films are in talks with Zee Studios for a pay-per-view format release.
“The industry has now realized that if a film stars a big name, then a simultaneous release in cinemas and on a platform like ZeePlex can be an interesting proposition. Hence, Zee’s top honchos wasted no time and have already approached around 4-5 highly awaited biggies. The makers are in talks with Zee and this shows how widely ZeePlex has got acceptance,” according to a report by Bollywood Hungama a source informed them.
The source further mentions that it is quite possible that the makers of Sooryavanshi and 83 are in talks for a similar format release. While Antim will take a hybrid release route, Ajay Devgn starrer Maidaan is a film of Zee Studios and it will be in contention. Alongside these two, few other big-banner films are in the lens for pay-per-view release.
As of now, there’s no official announcement for the same, however, fans must be excited for the release of these highly anticipated films. Both Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn have an interesting list of films in the pipeline for the release.
