Superstar Salman Khan and Bollywood Diva Deepika Padukone have made it to the Forbes India list of top celebrities once again. The Dabangg Khan became India’s highest-paid celebrity on the list for the third consecutive year whereas the newly married beauty has broken into the club for the fifth consecutive year and is no. 4 on the list which has Salman Khan at number one position. With this Deepika also became the highest-paid women celebrity in India.
Salman Khan with an earning of around ₹253.25 crore earned through his film releases, television appearances and brand endorsements between October 1, 2017, and September 30, 2018 went on to be the numero uno for the third consecutive year. A feat in itself.
Deepika Padukone at No 4 (₹112.8 crore) is the highest-paid women celebrity in India and becomes the first woman to break into the top five positions since the inception of the List in 2012. Though last year there were a total of 21 women celebrities on the list, this year that number has been reduced to 18 but this is the first year that the ‘Padmaavat’ star has broken into the first five.
Virat Kohli and Akshay Kumar have grabbed the second and third position with ₹228.09 crore and ₹185 crore in earnings. Shah Rukh Khan, who has had no release has come down to 14 positions and Priyanka Chopra is on No 49 this year.
On the work front, Salman Khan is busy with ‘Bharat’ that also features Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani and others, SRK is gearing for the release of ‘Zero’ co-starring Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. Deepika has recently tied the knot with Ranveer Singh and Priyanka has tied the knot with Nick Jonas and the Diva’s are basking in marital bliss but will soon take up their respective projects.
