Bollywood’s Nawab Saif Ali Khan recently celebrated his 50th birthday. The actor confessed on Neha Dhupia’s popular podcast series No Filter Neha that he is petrified of turning 50. But the actor added that he is also thankful for his mother Sharmila Tagore’s genes that make him look younger than his age.
In an interview with Neha Dhupia for her podcast, Saif reportedly said, “Fifty is petrifying. A friend of mine said you can see the end 50s and then 60s and after 70. Every day is a bonus. My father died at 71, my grandfather died at 41 so at some point, I think you can sit back and you say it’s been a hell of a ride. I’m quite happy with how it’s gone and it shouldn’t be that dissatisfaction, that ‘I didn’t do anything’. Mid-life crisis is not happening because obviously I have done stuff, so I can’t complain.”
But he added that he is thankful to his mother Sharmila Tagore. Her genes make him look younger than what he is. “So,I’m just relieved my mother looks young and looked young and I feel I have inherited her genes, so I might be able to fool people into looking 50 when I’m 60“, says Saif.
Saif is also writing his autobiography that will be published by HarperCollins India. It is slated to hit the shelves in October 2021.
The actor is also expecting his second child after Taimur with Kareena Kapoor Khan. Saif is also father to a son Ibrahim and daughter Sara from first wife Amrita Singh.
