Preparation for Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2, which is said to be a sequel to his 1991 romantic thriller, featuring Alia Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt opposite Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in the lead role is about to begin in Mumbai.
According to reports, both Mahesh Bhatt and Pooja Bhat had flown to Romania, where they wanted to recreate Mumbai, scouting for locations. But, if a report in the Mumbai Mirror is believed, the landscape of the European country didn’t really meet the duo’s vision, so the makers have decided to shoot the portions in the city.
The film Sadak 2 deals with a huge issue of depression. Confirming the news, producer Mukesh Bhatt told Mirror, “Yes, it’s true. We didn’t find locations like Mumbai in Romania, so we would be shooting those portions here. The film will also be shot in other parts of India. The creative decision to not go ahead with Romania was taken by Mahesh, who is directing the film. We are putting up a set at Mehboob studio in Bandra where Sanjay and Alia will join us on the first day in mid-May.”
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, makers of Sadak 2 will also recreate the iconic romance ballad ‘Tumhe Apna Banane’ in the film. The original song was filmed on Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt in Sadak and it was sung by Anuradha Paudwal.
In Sadak 2, Aditya Roy Kapur and Alia Bhatt will reportedly portray the role a young couple. Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt will be reprising his original role as Ravi. A Mukesh Bhatt Presentation of a Mahesh Bhatt Film, Sadak 2 is a Vishesh Films Production and is scheduled to release on 25th March 2020.
It is to be noted that with Sadak 2 Mahesh Bhatt is making her directorial comeback after an action-crime thriller, Kartoos which was released in 1999 and had Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala in the lead role.
