The legendary Sachin Tendulkar kicked-off proceedings at the Brabourne cricket stadium in Navi Mumbai by ringing the bell, which signalled the beginning of the fourth ODI between India and West Indies.
The iconic former international cricketer who is a local boy to this Cricket Club of India (CCI) owned stadium dropped by and rang the bell—a tradition followed by the famous Lord’s stadium in England.
The last time an international match was played at the stadium was in the year 2009 when India hosted Sri Lanka for a Test match.
To make it memorable, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted a video of the moment.

“A kind of firsts here at CCI as the Master Blaster @sachin_rt rings the bell before the start of play today,” read the tweet.
The video was shared by Tendulkar who wrote, “Rang the bell at Brabourne Stadium to inaugurate the 4th ODI between India & Windies. Always a blessing to go on the ground and get some grass on my shoes. Best wishes to both teams for the game today.”
India won the first match handsomely by eight wickets but the second match played in Vizag went down to a thrilling draw. The West Indies, however, fought back in the series to win the third ODI by 43 runs and level the five-match affair at 1-1.
The fourth game thus becomes crucial for both the teams.
