RSS to invite 60 countries for 3-day lecture, excluding Pakistan
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is on the verge of sending invites to diplomatic missions of 60 countries for a three-day series of lectures to be held in New Delhi next week. The organisation has dropped Pakistan from the list of 60 invitees it intends to send formal invitation. The lectures will be addressed by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
This initiative will also involve political outfits of the country along with media, industry and other dignitaries. The parties which are strongly opposed to the views of the RSS will also be extended invitations for the lecture series. Only notable exclusion is neighbour Pakistan who are at loggerheads with India on several issues including terrorism.
“Invitations will be sent to embassies of most Asian countries excluding Pakistan. Pakistan will not be invited because that country supports terror, kills Indian soldiers at borders and its relations with India are strained,” an RSS functionary was quoted as saying The Indian Express on Wednesday. According to the official, the Chinese embassy will be invited too since China has “cultural similarities with India”.
The sessions will have interactive ones with participants will have the opportunity to ask questions. In fact, on the first two days of the three-day event which will kick off next Monday, Bhagwat will engage himself in interactive sessions with prominent citizens on “Future of Bharat: An RSS perspective.”
According to information received, questions will be gathered from the audience on the first couple of days. “As different people may ask the same questions, such questions could be shortlisted. And sarsanghchalak ji in his replies will cover almost all the questions during the concluding day,” an RSS functionary requesting anonymity was quoted as saying by the same publication.
However, this is the first such event organised by the RSS which will witness direct interaction for clarification from the organisation on several issues.
As per pal, RSS is expected to extend invitations to the heads of all national political outfits requesting them to bring four-five leaders for the event. “Among state parties, invitations will be sent to those parties that have a strong base in different states and enjoy public support and often raise questions related to RSS, like TMC, Samajwadi Party, DMK and others,” sources were quoted as saying.
