SS Rajamouli’s RRR starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR is one of the much-awaited movies of 2020. The film was earlier supposed to release on July 26, 2020, but it had been postponed to January 8, 2021. The announcement of RRR’s new release date was made by none other than SS Rajamouli himself.
In February 2020, revealing the new release date of RRR, The official handle of the film wrote on Twitter, “Your love and support have made all our hard work and hectic schedules worthwhile! We are working round the clock to give you a cinematic experience like never before. And with a huge worldwide release planned, we have had to postpone the date of release. We understand this is a disappointment, but there’s going to be a lot to look forward to because this only gives us more time to bring the best to you. (sic)”

As per a report in 123Telugu.com, the cast and crew of RRR were supposed to start a new shoot schedule from April 15 but due to Coronavirus pandemic, it has been pushed ahead. Owing to 21-day nationwide lockdown, production work of TV shows and movies have come to a complete standstill and the makers had to postpone the release date of their movies as Cinema halls and theatres across the country remain closed.
The makers of RRR released the first look of Ram Charan on the eve on his birthday. The fans and cine-goers were delighted to see the south actor’s first look.
In the first look, Ram Charan is looking intensely fierce. Ram Charan will be seen playing as Alluri Sitarama Raju while Jr NTR will be seen as Komaram Bheem.
The movie also has Alia Bhatt in a pivotal role. Besides Telugu and Hindi film actor, RRR also has foreign actors Allison Doody, Olivia Morris and Ray Stevenson playing pivotal roles.
RRR is said to be a fictitious tale based on the life of Telugu freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem played by Jr NTR and Ram Charan respectively. Produced by DVV Danayya, RRR is reported to have made on a budget of Rs 450 crore.
