Roohi Trailer: Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor And Varun Sharma Starrer Is Edgy And Hilarious

Ever heard Indian horror tales of lady spirits kidnapping grooms/brides from their wedding? Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s first collaboration film is set in the backdrop of similar kidnapping stories. Janhvi Kapoor gets possessed by a ghost after she gets kidnapped by Rajkummar and Varun Sharma. The film was earlier titled as Roohi Afzana, however it has got a new titled now i.e Roohi. The makers have officially released much anticipated trailer video for this spooky-hilarious upcoming film.

Roohi’s trailer video starts of featuring Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma in a never before avatar. What we loved most about the trailer is the ways its edited and detailed characterizations. While Janhvi is impressive with her innocent and spooky avatar, Rajkummar and Varun Sharma make it worth the watch with their hilarious comic timing. The trio surely tickles the funny bones and the backstory of the ghost makes us wanting to know more about the film.

Roohi is one of the most anticipated film because the crew is the same who have earlier worked on Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree. This upcoming horror comedy gives the similar vibe, but the different plot line makes it more intriguing. It is being directed by Hardik Mehta and produced by under Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films banner. It is all set to be released on March 11.

Ahead of releasing the trailer video for Roohi, producer Dinesh Vijan stated in a statement, “While Stree was a genre bending tale that gave audiences something never seen before, Roohi takes this vision a step further by offering the same brand of spine chilling scares and quirky comedy. With a partner like Jio Studios that shares our passion for the eponymous ‘bada parda’, we hope ‘Roohi’ rekindles the audience’s long standing romance with the silver screen. It is a film tailor made to be viewed at your nearest theatre,” reported PTI.
