Robert Downey Jr. Reportedly Returning As Tony Stark For Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’
‘Avengers: Endgame’ had Robert Downey Jr aka Iron Man and Chris Evans aka Captain America bidding a final farewell to the MCU. Here is some good news for IRON MAN fans, he might reportedly be returning as Tony Stark for Scarlett Johansson’s ‘Black Widow’. Looks like Robert Downey Jr is not done with the MCU as yet.
According to Deadline, Robert Downey Jr. is reprising his role as Tony Stark for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, a film set between the events of 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson recently shared the screen in the Marvel Studios epic Avengers: Endgame, which saw their respective characters sacrificing themselves to take down Thanos and his forces.
There has been no confirmation of the same as yet.
Scarlett Johansson will be seen in a standalone movie ‘Black Widow’. The movie is being directed by Cate Shortland and also features David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle and Rachel Weiz in pivotal roles. The plot of the film is being kept under wraps.
The main villain of the film is Taskmaster, a character who is a formidable foe thanks to his “photogenic reflexes” that allow him to quickly observe and copy any person’s fighting style. As per rumours, we might get to see Scarlett Johansson’s Nathasha Romanoff take on the villainous Taskmaster.
‘Black Widow’ arrives in theatres on May 1, 2020.
