The coronavirus pandemic could play a major role in deciding the release date of Riverdale Season 5
Riverdale season 4 has given viewers some truly shocking twists and turns. So much so, that viewers are already eagerly anticipating the arrival of Season 5. While not much is known about the upcoming Season 5, we know that Riverdale had to shut down production on Season 4 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This could play a major role in deciding the release date of Riverdale Season 5.
Riverdale Season 5 Release Date
Currently, Riverdale Season 5 is scheduled to arrive in October 2020. However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the release date may be pushed forward.
Season 5 Cast Details
The cast of season 5 is not expected to change. All the series regulars will be returning to the show except one. Here is the cast list of Riverdale Season 5:

- Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper
- Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
- Casey Cott as Kevin Keller
- Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom
- Charlies Melton as Reggie Mantle
However, Cole Sprouse and Ashleigh Murray will not be returning for Season 5. They played the roles of Jughead
and Josie McCoy respectively. In addition, Marisol Nichols, who played Hermione Lodge, has left the show. Skeet Ulrich will also be leaving Riverdale. Ulrich plays the role of Jughead’s father F.P. Jones on Riverdale.
Riverdale Crossovers?
A crossover between Riverdale and Sabrina could take place. It is a plausible crossover as Sabrina is a recurring character in the Archies comics. While there has been no confirmation on this, there is a crossover that has been confirmed by the producers. It seems like a crossover between Riverdale and Katy Keene is coming up.
Riverdale Season 4 Episode 18 will release on April 29, 2020, at 8 pm ET on CW.
