Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. The actor has left a great legacy behind him and the film industry would miss his presence for a long time. Several celebrities have expressed their grief over the news on social media.
Veteran actor Jeetendra had been a close friend of Rishi Kapoor. The two worked together in films such as ” Ghar ki Izzat”, ” Badalte Rishtey” and “Khazana”. The actor shared that he was deeply saddened to hear the devastating news. Posting on behalf of his father, Tushhar Kapoor shared his sentiments.
“Don’t have words right now to express the shock and intensity of emotion in my heart at this point! I’ve lost a friend, more a brother to me! Even though we met less frequently in the last few years, our friendship has always stood the test of time! An everlasting connection that went far beyond the professional equation we shared as actors from the same fraternity! It’s very unfortunate that owing to the times I won’t be able to pay my last respects to his family in person. Nevertheless, the moments we all shared together shall live on forever in our hearts,” he stated.
In addition, Varun Dhawan recalled that he was fortunate enough to work with Rishi Kapoor in his first film Student of The Year.
Varun wrote, “I was just in awe facing him in a scene. Sid and me would always discuss that we shouldn’t mess up our lines. He was a professional and always loving. RIP Chintu uncle.”
Singer Lata Mangeshkar also posted saying that she is completely gutted on hearing the news.
She tweeted saying, “Kya kahun? Kya likhu kuch samajh mein nahi aaraha hai.Rishi ji ke nidhan se mujhe bahut dukh ho raha hai.Unke jaane se film industry ki bahut haani hui hai. Ye dukh sehena mere liye bahut mushkil hai. Bhagwan unki aatma ko shanti pradan karein.” The singer also shared a photo of herself holding a 3 Months old Rishi Kapoor in her arms.
