Rishi Kapoor’s last words on Twitter: ‘We have to win this coronavirus war together’

After Irrfan Khan, Bollywood has lost yet another veteran actor in the form of Rishi Kapoor. The 67-year old actor was rushed to Mumbai’s hospital HN Reliance on Wednesday morning and hours after Randhir Kapoor confirmed that he is not well, Rishi Kapoor has left for heavenly abode today (April 30, 2020).

The news of Rishi Kapoor’s death was broke by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. He took to Twitter and wrote, “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted.

Rishi Kapoor aka Chintu, was an avid social media user and used to make sure he has all his fans informed and updated about his daily life, has not put anything on social media since April 2.

His last message on Twitter was how India should win the war against Coronavirus pandemic.

“An appeal Folded hands to all brothers and sisters from all social status and faiths. Please don’t resort to violence,stone throwing or lynching. Doctors,Nurses,Medics, Policemen etc..are endangering their lives to save you. We have to win this Coronavirus war together. Please. Jai Hind!Flag of India,” he had tweeted on 2 April.

“He is in the hospital. He is suffering from cancer and he has some breathing problem, so he has been admitted to the hospital. He is stable now,” Randhir Kapoor had informed.

After undergoing treatment in the US, the Pink actor returned to India last September. Post his return to the US, Rishi Kapoor was hospitalised twice in February this year.

He was first admitted to a hospital in Delhi where he was attending a family function. At the time, Mr Kapoor had said that he was suffering from an “infection”.

After his return to Mumbai, he was again admitted to a hospital with viral fever. However, he was discharged soon after.

Rishi Kapoor had recently made an announcement of his new project, a remake of Hollywood film “The Intern” starring Deepika Padukone.
