Right wing activist planned terror plot at Pune’s Sunburn festival, but failed
Thousands of people would have killed in Pune’s 2016 Sunburn Festival by the right-wing activists who are recently arrested by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). These arrested Sympathiser of right wing group Sanatan Sanstha, had made full preparation to hurl bombs at the crowds before escaping from the Annual dance music festival in Pune.
While interrogating, one of the accused’s Sharad Kalasker told Investigating agency, the only reason we could not burst the bomb at 2016 Sunburn Festival was, it was cancelled at the eleventh hours. We had full preparation from assembling crude bombs, to escaping via highway after hurling bombs into the crowds.
According to the Investigation Agencies’ source, “accused Sharad Kalaskar was not the only one who was supposed to execute this Sunburn terror plot. He was executing this plot along with Sudhanva Gondhalkar, who is recently arrested from Pune.
During the investigation Kalaskar said, “they had made crude bombs, which they have reportedly planned to throw at revellers at Pune’s 2016 Sunburn Festival to cause panic and damage. He further said, they had a plane to go to venue by their motorcycle but had plan to escape through highway.”
He also called this Annual Dance Music Festival or Sunburn Festival was against Hindu culture. Though, 2016, Sunburn Festival, was held for the first time in Pune after its nine editions in Goa. As per the report, The Goa government has turned organiser’s request when they failed to pay their dues.
The 2016 Sunburn Festival terror plot was hatched Sharad Kalaskar’s house in Satara district. While, ATS is trying to find, whether it was Kalaskar’s brainchild or there was another mastermind who hatched this terror.
Apart from Kalaskar, the ATS has arrested three more right wing members, including Vaibhav Rawat from Mumbai’s Nalasopara, Shiv Sena Corporator Shrinkant Pangarkar from Jalna and Avinash Pawar from Ghatkopar in a connection of Nalasopar arms haul. The third accused, Avinash Pawar, who works in Mazgaon Dock Shipbuilders Limited was on leave when the whole plan was hatched and Padmaavat bombing took place.
The Investigation agency has also recovered dozens of crude oils, country made pistols, country guns trigger mechanism, vehicle number plates, a chopper, hard disc and pen drives from Nalasopara in last month. These all sized material has been sent to forensic agencies for further information, when they were assembled.
