After movies like No Time To Die and Sooryavanshi pushed their release dates forward, Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel is next in line to be affected due to Coronavirus concerns. Fans will have to wait a while longer to see The Last Duel as Disney has delayed shooting of the Ridley Scott directed film, according to Deadline.
The Last Duel is a medieval knight drama featuring Ben Affleck, Adam Driver and Matt Damon. In addition, the cast will also include Jodie Comer, Harriet Walter, Samuel Hazeldine and Nathaniel Parker.
The movie is based on the book The Last Duel: A True Story of Trial by Combat in Medieval France by Eric Jager. It takes place in 1386. The story is about a Norman knight who accuses his old friend of raping his wife while he was at war. While cormer will play the wife, Matt Damon and Adam Driver will be the two male leads. The script for The Last Duel was co-written by Damon and Affleck with Nicole Holofcener.
While The Last Duel is slated to release on Christmas, the setback in shooting due to the Coronavirus outbreak may postpone its release date. However, this is not the first project where Ridley Scott would have to work on an accelerated timeline. The director accomplished an eight day reshoot to replace Kevin Spacey with Christopher Plummer in All the Money in the World.
This movie marks the second collaboration between Matt Damon and Ben Affleck after the Academy Award winning Good Will Hunting. Incidentally, it is also the second time Matt Damon and Ridley Scott are working together. Their last project was The Martian.
