Rick and Morty made its return to TV after a long gap for Season 4. While fans are loving the new season, the presence of only five episodes is raising some concerns with the fanbase.
However, the hoard of Rick and Morty fans out there can relax as Spencer Grammer, who plays Summer, has assured that there is more to come. The actor has said that there are five more episodes to go in the season that fans will get to see soon.
The actor told Collider, “You’ll see some pretty dynamic [stories] for Summer coming up. We have, I think, two more episodes airing in this chunk. And then we have another five coming out eventually, sooner than later. And then we also have, I know they’re working on season five. I hope we do get to explore more from her background and the future and just in general.”
Spencer Grammer has revealed that she has recently finished recording episode 10. “I just recorded 4.10 when I was in LA a few weeks ago but, those change a lot. I’ll be going back to do pick-ups probably for some of them. They’re revising and then re-writing certain things. So, we’re not finished yet but yes, I recorded all of them so far.”
Show creator Justin Roiland had earlier promised 10 episodes to the fans of Rick and Morty while speaking to Entertainment Weekly. “This new season will be 10. We’re rolling right into the next batch. The plan has always been to get them out quicker.”
Rick and Morty Season 3 was supposed to have 10+ episodes
However, the last season was scheduled to have more than the 10 episodes it finally got.
Also speaking to EW, Co-creator Dan Harmon said in 2017, “I would like to think I’ve learned enough from my mistakes in season three that we could definitely do 14 now, but then I have to say, ‘Yeah but you’re the guy who says we can do 14 who turned out to be wrong so we’re not listening to you now’. The nice healthy way to approach this is I want to prove it with the first 10 of season four – prove it to ourselves, to production, to the network – that it’s so easy that we’ll earn additional episodes.”
Season four, episode four of Rick and Morty will premiere on Adult Swim in the US on December 8.
