Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami arrested by police, he alleges he was assaulted
Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami was arrested by Police on Wednesday (November 4) morning. Reportedly Arnab has been arrested in connection with an old abetment to suicide case. Republic TV editor Arnab has been arrested under Section 306 and Section 34 of IPC.
Goswami alleged that he was physically assaulted by the cops. Visual flashed on Republic TV showed Goswami being forced into a police van.
Arnab Goswami says that Mumbai Police physically assaulted his mother-in-law and father-in-law, son and wife. Mumbai police also assaulted Arnab Goswami as per video played out on Republic TV

Speaking to Indian Express Sanjay Mohite, IG Konkan Range said, “Arnab Goswami is currently being taken to Raigad. He shall be interrogated by the investigating officer and the further course of action will be decided accordingly.”
As reported by sources to Indian Express, the architect Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik committed suicide in 2018. It was over alleged non-payment of dues by Goswami’s Republic TV. Republic TV had refuted the allegations.

Sanjay Raut came in Maharashtra Police’ defence and said, “The law is followed in Maharashtra. Police can take action if they have evidence against anyone. Since the formation of Thackeray government, no action has been taken against anyone for revenge.”
