Realme surprised its users earlier this week by increasing the prices of its two smartphones Realme C1 and Realme 2. But, CEO of the company justified the hiked price saying that the additional price of two phones are a direct result of the increasing value of the US dollar against Indian Rupee.
When Realme C1 was launched, it was being retailed at Rs 6,999 but now it is being sold at Rs 7,999 witnesses a hike of Rs 1,000. While Realme 2 was launched at Rs 8,990 sees a hike of Rs 500.
Following the hike, the 3GB RAM with 32GB storage variant is now priced at Rs 9,499, but the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant price remains at Rs 10,999.
The CEO of the company has confirmed that the prices of the new Realme 2 Pro will not be affected by this price hike. The Realme 2 Pro which was launched for a price of Rs 13,990 on Flipkart is being sold for the same price.
Complaining about the hiked price, Realme 2 Pro customers had complained that the battery performance of the device was rather poor and faulty to some extent. And Realme acknowledged that this is a valid issue, and is now rolling out an update with a fix for it. This new update is also set to improve the performance of the selfie camera, and there are some other general bug fixes as well. Those that have not received the update yet can check for it on Settings -> Software Update.
