It’s official! Bollywood actors Ranvir Shorey and Konkana Sen Sharma have been officially granted the divorce, earlier this year in February, they filed for divorce after living separately for 5 years. Reportedly, the couple has agreed to share joint custody of their child.
Konkona’s lawyer Amruta Sathe Pathak, in an interview, told ETimes, “Yes, Konkona and Ranvir are now divorced. It was done very amicably. It’s not that Ranvir and Konkona didn’t try to remain together, both even underwent detailed counselling – but it just didn’t sort out.”
“They came and left separately but nevertheless, this is one of the most peaceful divorces that one has seen in a long time. There is absolutely no animosity between the two. Sad of course that they couldn’t reconcile as a couple but who can control destiny?” said the source.
In 2015, the ‘Wake Up Sid’ actress announced their separation and wrote, “Ranvir and I have mutually decided to separate, but continue to be friends and co-parent our son. Will appreciate your support. Thank you.”
Ranvir and Konkana started dating each other in 2007, in 2010, the duo tied the knot, however, the duo separated in 2015. They still remained friends and share the custody of their son, named, Haroon.
The duo has worked together in multiple movies including ‘Traffic Signal’, ‘Mixed Doubles’, and ‘Aaja Nachle’ among others. Ranvir also worked as an actor in Konkona’s directorial, ‘A Death In The Gunj’ which also starred Vikrant Massey and Kalki Koechlin.
On the work front, Konkana Sen will be seen ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ alongside Bhumi Pednekar, which is set to release on Netflix in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Whereas, Ranvir was last seen in, ‘Lootcase’ which released on Disney+ Hotstar on July 31, 2020.
