An unknown woman from West Bengal, Ranu Mondal became an overnight sensation with her divine voice. A few days back, the video of Ranu Mondal crooning legendary singer Lala Mangeshkar’s iconic song ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’ at the Ranaghat station, went viral on the internet. Popular singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya was much impressed with her voice and decided to record a song titled Teri Meri Kahani for his movie Happy Hardy and Heer.
Good news for Ranu’s wellwishers as the singer from Ranaghat has recorded her second song with Himesh Reshammiya. Atindra Chakraborty who had shared Ranu’s video from Ranaghat has posted the video of her second recording session with Himesh.
It begins with Himesh’s voiceover as Ranu sings along. “This alaap and voice over is the theme of Happy Hardy and Heer,” an excerpt from Atindra’s caption for the post read.
Taking to social media, Himesh too shared the video of Ranu Mondal recording her second song with a heartfelt post.

Speaking about giving a chance to Ranu Mondal, Himesh said that he was once advised by Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan that if he comes across a talented person, he should not let them go. Khan also told him, Reshammiya says, to aid gifted people to grow their talent.
Ranu Mondal belongs to Bengal’s Nadia district is also known as the ‘Lata of Ranaghat’. Atindra Chakraborty, a 26-year old engineer, had first heard Ranu singing a Mohammed Rafi number at Ranaghat station, and requested her to keep singing.
