Shivam Dubey hit a masterclass 110 to bail Mumbai out of trouble as they posted 297 runs on the board in their first innings against Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy on Wednesday.
Having been handed reprieve at 14, Dubey went on to cash on into the opportunity as he ended up scoring his second ton in first-class cricket in his home ground–at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday.

The all-rounder was earlier dropped by Rujal Bhatt at slips but went on to make the most of that opportunity after his side got off to a poor start as they reduced to 74/5 at one stage. Dubey’s innings which came off 128 balls had eight fours and six huge sixes as he had partnerships with Siddesh Lad and captain Dhawal Kulkarni. Left-arm medium pace bowler Arzan Nagwaswalla was the best for Gujarat with figures of 5/78.
