Mahanta Nritya Gopal Das the head of the Ram Mandir Trust in Ayodhya has tested COVID-19 positive. The Mahanta had shared the stage with PM Narendra Modi and other VP’s at the groundbreaking ceremony of Ram Temple. The others on the stage were Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor Anandiben Patel, and Mohan Bhagwat, chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Mahant Nritya Gopal Das was present on the dais during PM Modi’s speech after the Bhoomi puja and also during the unveiling of a postage stamp. The landmark event of Ram Mandir bhoomi pujan on August 5 was attended by 175 guests the trust headed by Nritya Gopal Das had invited.
As reported by sources to News18, Das, who is currently in Mathura, was experiencing breathing difficulties. A doctor was called to treat him. He is now being moved to Medanta hospital in Gurgaon. The Mahanta had travelled to Mathura to organize the Krishna Janmashtami celebrations.
UP chief minister’s Adityanath’s office said the CM had spoken to DM Mathura, Das’ followers, and Dr. Trehan of Medanta Hospital. He has requested immediate medical attention towards Das’s condition at Medanta. The Mathura District Magistrate has also been requested to provide all possible support and medical attention to the patient.
