Ayodhya has been decked up and painted yellow for the Ram Mandir Bhumi Pujan that is being held today August 5. Local temples started a continuous Akhand Ramayan recitation with temples and homes being lit as in Diwali. Many eminent personalities have come together for the much-awaited event.

The PM arrived in Ayodhya donning a golden Kurta and a traditional gamcha. The traditional Tilak will be skipped for the PM to avoid contact. Only those SPG members and leaders who have tested negative for Covid-19 will be allowed near him. The PM next planted a Parijat sapling, considered a divine plant, ahead of foundation stone-laying of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Priest at Ram Temple ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ says nine bricks, sent by devotees of Lord Rama from around the world in 1989, have been kept at the site. 100 out of 2.75 lakh with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ engraving have been taken.
PM Narendra Modi after offering prayers at HanumanGarhi has reached the venue. He first offered prayers to Ram Lalla, performs ‘sashtang pranam’ (prostration) at Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya.
