On the occasion of Superstar Rajinikanth’s 68th birthday, filmmakers have launched Petta’s teaser. The film stars Rajinikanth in the lead role, and rest of its cast includes Simran, Trisha, Vijay Sethupathi, Sasikumar, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bobby Simha.
The Petta’s teaser engages us with its background score and visuals of the Rajinikanth’s slow-motion walk indicating that Petta is an absolute Rajinikanth film.
Anticipating from the teaser, the film Petta would not discuss politics or toy with big concepts (2.0). It intends to only celebrate a movie-god, who has reigned over the box office since the 80s.
The film is being directed by Karthik Subbaraj, a die-hard fan of Rajinikanth, bringing back the iconic opening credit that has accompanied most of Rajinikanth’s films since the early 90s.
The film Petta is a star-studded cast, however, we don’t get to see any of them in the teaser as it is outrightly dedicated to Rajinikanth. Prior to Petta’s teaser, the makers had revealed Vijay Sethupathi’s and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s characters as Jithu and Singaar Singh respectively.
The film will be produced by Sun Pictures, Petta is scheduled to hit the silver screens globally during Pongal.
