Superstar Rajinikanth underwent a Carotid Artery revascularisation procedure on Friday. Now, the actor returned home after being discharged from a Chennai Kauvery Hospital on Sunday.
He updated his fans about the news by sharing a picture of himself on Twitter. He captioned the photo, “Returned home,” and included a folded hands emoticon.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin had also visited the actor at the hospital and inquired about his health. Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and Executive Director, said in a statement.”He was thoroughly evaluated by the expert panel of doctors and was advised to undergo Carotid Artery Revascularisation. The procedure was performed successfully today (October 29) and he is recovering well. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital after a few days.”
The star has gone to the Kauvery hospital for a routine checkup, later, he was admitted on October 28.
He got discharged from hospital just before his film ‘Annaatthe’ release which is scheduled to hit the theatres on the occasion of Diwali, 4 November. It also stars Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara and Keerthy Suresh. While Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Soori in prominent roles.
A few days back, the 70-year old actor had visited Delhi to receive the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He travelled to Delhi along with his wife, daughter Aishwarya and his grandchildren to receive the award. Later, he was also called upon President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi.
