Shilpa Shetty‘s businessman husband has moved the Bombay High Court for anticipatory bail. Raj Kundra was booked by Mumbai Police for his alleged involvement in the creation and publication of adult films. Kundra’s time in custody was extended after the sessions court deferred his bail hearing till August 20.
As reported by sources to ETimes, Raj Kundra has moved the High Court for anticipatory bail. The decision to defer the plea came after the crime branch reportedly listed down several reasons to oppose the businessman’s bail. The crime branch told the court that Kundra was not cooperating in the case. They added that if granted bail, he might commit the crime again or even try to flee the country. The victims in the case are women from poor financial backgrounds and, if the accused is out on bail, they might not come forward with crucial evidence.
Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra was arrested for allegedly producing and distributing porn films through an app. A director of one of Raj Kundra’s companies was arrested in connection with the pornography case on Thursday. The director was identified as Abhijeet Bomble by the crime branch.
Recently an alleged fraud case was registered against Shilpa and her mother Sunanda Shetty in Lucknow. Two FIRs against the mother-daughter duo have been filed at Hazratganj and Vibhuti Khand police stations. It is claimed that Shilpa and her mom allegedly took sums of money from two people in order to open a branch of the wellness centre, however, the promise wasn’t fulfilled.
