Its a known fact that late Bollywood actor, Rishi Kapoor wanted to take his children, Ranbir and Riddhima Kapoor at his ancestral house, which is currently located in Peshawar, Pakistan. Raj Kapoor’s house is now facing demolition threat as the current owner of the house is interested in building a commercial complex on the site.
Earlier there were reports that the current owner of the haveli, Israr tried to demolish the building. He couldn’t do so because the FIR was filed against him by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa heritage department. As per the latest reports now, Israr, however, wants to demolish the building and construct a new commercial building at this prime location.
It was in the year 2018, when the Pakistan government decided converting the Kapoor Haveli into a Qissa Khwani Bazar in Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province into a museum, after the request by Rishi Kapoor to prevent the memories of his father, Raj Kapoor. The veteran actor breathed his last in the month of June this year. Apparently, the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had assured Rishi that the Pakistan government will convert the actor’s house into a museum.
As per the latest reports, the haveli has now turned into a ghost building, as reported by the netizens from the city. Local residents fear that the building may automatically collapse unless the government takes timely action to conserve it.
