Rahul Gandhi slams government for making Indian Army buy their own uniforms
Congress president Rahul Gandhi is abroad accompanying his mother Sonia Gandhi for a medical check-up. But that doesn’t mean he is not involved in the country’s whereabouts.
He quoted an Economic Times report that said the Army is seeking to cut 50 per cent supply from state-run ordnance factories, the Congress chief hit out at the Narendra Modi-led government.
He recently tweeted against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making Indian Army Soldiers buy their own uniforms. He accused Modi government of making empty slogans.
Gandhi said on Twitter, “MAKE (empty slogans and useless acronyms) IN INDIA…. meanwhile, make our soldiers buy their own clothes and shoes”.

The ET report said that Indian Army has decided to cut down its supplies from state-owned ordnance factories from 94% to 50 % and ensure that the money is instead spent on procuring an adequate stock of critical ammunition and spares.
