Congress president Rahul Gandhi hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his “gramophone” jibe on Sunday.
Rahul posted an “entertaining video” on Twitter where Modi, in his speeches is seen making multiple references to members of the Gandhi family.
The 52-second video on Twitter was a compilation of many of Modi’s speeches and had the caption, “This entertaining video has been presented by Mr. 36! I hope you enjoy seeing it! Please share it with your family and friends so that they can enjoy it too.”
The video opened with Modi addressing the BJP workers where he made a reference to the gramophone, saying, “There used to be gramophone records earlier. At times, it would get stuck and play the same words again and again. There are some people like it. One thing occupies their mind and they keep repeating it.” It was a veiled dig to the Congress president.
Other speeches of Modi in the video follow where he is seen making references to famous members of the Gandhi family-Jahawarlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.
Modi had mocked Rahul’s remarks in an interaction with BJP leaders in October wherein he had made a comparison with a stuck gramophone which kept on getting stuck. He had said that the people wouldn’t accept such remarks which he called, “childish”.
