Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Union government for alleged scams in much-controversial Rafale deal. He took to social media site and wrote down a satirical poetry to cite his opinion on the alleged PM Modi-Anil Ambani deal.
(See the game of Modi-Ambani, snatching the Rafale from HAL; love for the corporate decreased the power of army; officer who stopped the deal, the leader of thieves stabbed him; sycophants got praised and corporate earned benefits; people are now being aware, will stop this loot together).”
The report published in the daily stated that a senior officer of the Ministry of Defence had reportedly raised questions about the deal’s benchmark price and put his objections on record. He did it a month before the then Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and his French counterpart were to sign the deal for 36 Rafale aircraft in New Delhi in September 2016.
The daily points out that due to the officer’s — then Joint Secretary & Acquisition Manager (Air) in the MoD — objections, the deal was delayed, but then signed by another senior MoD official, Director General (Acquisition).
Since the deal has set off a political controversy after former French president Francois Hollande’s revelations, the note by the JS & AM (Air) is currently with the office of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG). As Congress has taken the matter to a next level, which gained them a niche over BJP, things are going to become tougher for ruling party in the coming days.
