BJP President Amit Shah on Wednesday hit out at Rahul Gandhi, calling him a liar, who tries “to fool the nation” after the Congress chief had demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into the Rafale deal.
Replying to Gandhi’s tweet in which the Congress President had called out Mr. Arun Jaitley for his staunch defence of the Rafale deal, under which the Modi government had agreed to buy 36 jets from France on a discounted price, Mr. Shah said that the mention of different prices of the aircrafts at different places was a self-made example of Gandhi to fool the nation.

“Your lies to fool the nation are self-evident when Rafale price you quote vary in Delhi, Karnataka, Raipur, Hyderabad, Jaipur & Parliament. But the nation’s IQ is higher than yours!” tweeted senior BJP leader.
Quoting Rahul Gandhi’s demand for JPC investigation into the matter, Mr. Shah took another jibe at the Congress head calling JPC – Jhoothi Party Congress.
“Why to wait 24 hours when you already have your JPC-Jhoothi Party Congress,” he said referring to Gandhi’s comment, wherein the opposition leader had asked Arun Jaitley to respond to his tweet within the 24 years.
Earlier, Mr. Gandhi had blasted Mr. Jaitley for his defence of the Rafale deal. He said, “Mr. Jaitley, thanks for bringing the nation’s attention back to the GREAT #RAFALE ROBBERY! “How about a Joint Parliamentary Committee to sort it out? Problem is, your Supreme Leader is protecting his friend, so this may be inconvenient. Do check & revert in 24 hrs. We’re waiting!”
The Rafale deal agreement with France, the details of which according to the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) cannot be disclosed stirred a huge controversy, with many opposition leaders accusing the Modi led central government of cheating the common public.
