The late actor’s final rites will be performed today next to his father’s memorial at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru with state honors. Only his family members and close friends can attend the last rites. His daughter, Vanditha, who is in the United States of America, is expected to return to India for the rites.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Rajkumar’s fans gathered in large numbers to pay their last respects to the actor at Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru, reported ANI.

On Friday morning, Puneeth complained of chest pain and visited his family doctor for an ECG. Following the ECG, he was told to rush to the hospital. He arrived at Vikram Hospital in a serious condition, said the doctor. The unfortunate news came as a shock to the entire film fraternity and his followers, who couldn’t suffer the blow of the news.

The actor is survived by his wife and two daughters.
