Global Icon Priyanka Chopra dazzled on the pink carpet at the prestigious Met Gala 2019. This year the dress code at the gala was a homage to Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay, ‘Notes on Camp’. The Diva slew as she walked with her husband Nick Jonas in an avant-garde silver Dior outfit.
Peecee’s outfit comprised of a sheer bodice that came with silver criss-cross detailing and a skirt and trailing cape featuring feathers in the shades of grey, pink, red and yellow. She was styled by Mimi Cuttrell.
The spectacular couture gown and cape made exclusively for her by Maria Grazia Chiuri were made from tulle, featuring embroideries of tulle feathers and silver strass. Each of the feathers was cut by hand and then attached in graded layers, going from grey and blush pink to bolder yellow, fuchsia, and fiery red. The caged bodice of the dress was created from tulle and silver horsehair. A team of 10 Petites-mains worked on the dress for a total of 1500 hours. cost Rs.45 lakhs. Her Jimmy Choo silver pumps came for Rs 24, 030.
The look was finished with an incredible Dior Haute Couture palladium crown which sat atop Chopra’s teased voluminous curls.
She was also dripping head to toe in diamond jewellery by Chopard. Her earrings itself were worth Rs. 10 lakhs. She also wore three diamond and white gold pendant necklaces from the Happy Diamonds Collection while the stacks of bracelets adoring her wrists were from the Haute Joaillerie Collection.
On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will soon be seen in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink. The movie also features Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim in pivotal roles.
