The nationwide ride for Coronavirus immunisation begun in India last week. In the first round the health care workers and frontline workers were given vaccination. Reportedly, a total of 16,755 vaccinators were involved in organising COVID-19 vaccination sessions and the total of 1,91,181 beneficiaries vaccinated for COVID19 on the day 1 of the massive nationwide vaccination drive. Now, according to the latest reports, PM and all state CM’s are most likely to be vaccinated in the second round.
According to the reports, a tentative prioritisation for vaccination was discussed at the meeting held between PM Modi and the state chief ministers on November 24 last year. And now the officials are planning to stick to the same plans of vaccine executions. PM Narendra Modi including politicians from all states over the age of 50 years to get vaccinated in the second round of nation wide COVID-19 ride. “Politicians would get their turn in the second phase when senior citizens were to be vaccinated,” apparently said a government official.
As of now it is not known whether the Prime Minister will take the Covishield vaccine or the indigenously developed Covaxin. As per the estimations the Coronavirus vaccines will be available for common man in few month. India to also export the vaccines to neighbourhood nations in their fight against COVID-19. Maldives and Bhutan are the first recipients.
