Premier League: Ross Barkley’s all-round show helps Chelsea drub Burnley 4-0
Chelsea continued their fine start to the season with an emphatic 4-0 victory over Burnley at the Turf Moor on Sunday.
Ross Barkley proved why he is one of the best players in the Blues’ line-up as he assisted two and scored one himself out of the four times that Chelsea found the net.
Spanish striker Alvaro Morata who has often been at the receiving end of a barrage of criticism for his poor finishing skills proved at least some of his detractors wrong with the opener in the 22nd minute to kick-start a goal-scoring display that Maurizio Sarri would be highly proud of.
It was Barkley who set up the first goal in the 22nd minute as the Spaniard just had to nudge it past Joe Hart.
Just before an hour-mark, he himself found the bottom of the net from a distance of 25-yards as Chelsea went 2-0 inside 60 minutes.
The former Everton player who moved from the Toffees to Chelsea in January this year found it tough to break into Antonio Conte’s playing XI as he could only win four caps under the Italian.

But under Sarri, his career is seeing a rejuvenation and he even ended up becoming the first English player since Frank Lampard in 2013 to score in three consecutive Premier League games.
“Barkley is doing very well in this period,” Sarri said, as quoted by BBC.
“He improved in the defensive phase, improved very much. He improved his physical condition because the last season for him was really very difficult.
“He’s a very good player from the technical point of view. Now I think Ross is complete,” he added.
Yet again, Barkley’s splendid form continued as he fed Willian this time with who finished things off with a curling shot to score Chelsea’s third of the game. Ruben Loftus-Cheek whose star-studded performance against BATE Borisov resulted in a hat-trick then capped things off with a goal for himself in the injury time as the London club moved to the second spot in the highly competitive Premier League table.
