Prakash Raj on Gauri Lankesh killers planning to kill him: ‘My voice will grow stronger’

Popular actor Prakash Raj, who played important comic-villain roles in many Bollywood movies, is known for his stand against Hindutva. He had repeatedly questioned the silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who didn’t utter a word on Gauri’s killing.

A local Kannada news channel reported that according to the SIT investigation, Lankesh’s killers had conspired to kill Raj after he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Raj shared a news report of SIT, probing Lankesh killings, has found out that there were plans to eliminate him on Twitter. He lashed out at haters who planned to kill him Raj expressed concerns over forces trying to silence his voice.

Raj tweeted, “Bengaluru: Gauri killers planned to eliminate actor Prakash Rai, reveals SIT probe… ….Look at the narrative to silence voices.. my VOICE will grow more STRONGER now .. you cowards …do you think you will get away with such HATE POLITICS.” (sic)

A local Kannada news channel reported that according to the SIT investigation, Lankesh’s killers had conspired to kill Raj after he targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

However, the reports also suggest that the killers had planned to eliminate Jnanpeetha awardee Girish Karnad and they had named it as ‘operation kaka’.

Gauri Lankesh was a Left-leaning journalist and a strong Hindutva critic. She was shot dead from a close range by motorcycle-borne assailants in front of her house on September 5 last year.
