The makers of the film have revealed the title look of the film with the crew details, and it has created a huge buzz on social media. Talking about the film, the team of Ponniyin Selvan including Jayam Ravi and Karthi is camping in the Thailand shooting of the film and the first schedule will go on for about 40 days in Thailand.
Apart from Arjun, Ponniyin Selvan boasts a star-studded cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Lal and Ashwin Kakumanu in significant roles.
The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman and is produced by Madras Talkies in association with Lyca Productions. Scripted by Mani Ratnam and actor-writer Kumaravel, Ponniyin Selvan is based on a Tamil novel by Kalki.
Actors Parthiban, Keerthy Suresh and Anushka Shetty dropped out of the movie due to various causes. While Parthiban opted out due to the unavailability of dates, it is being said that Keerthy Suresh had her dates booked for Thalaivar 168. On the other hand, Anushka Shetty opted out due to unknown reasons. Vairamuthu was earlier on board, apparently is no longer a part of the project, as his name was mentioned during the #Metoo movement.
