Arjun Chidambaram to play a key role in Mani Ratnam's directorial Ponniyin Selvan
It has been a great year for Arjun Chidambaram. There are several names have been announced to star in Mani Ratnam’s upcoming flick titled Ponniyin Selvan. The latest one who have joined Panniyin Selva cast is Arjun Chimbaram. He played the main antagonist in Ajith’s Nerkonda Paarvai, which made decent money at the box office.
The news of Arjun Chimbaram casting for Mani Ratnam’s next is confirmed by Idharkku Thane Aasaipattai Balakumara fame Ashwin Kakumanu. This good news comes days after the makers revealed the Panniyin Selva cast list. According to reports, the film has already gone on floors earlier this month.
Confirming her inclusion in the movie, while speaking to Cinema Express, Arjun said, “Though I’m playing a small role, I’m glad to be part of such a big film.” He also took to Instagram to share a few pictures of the shooting location in Thailand.
Speaking about the movies and web series he has done this year, he shared, “This year has been good. More like a turning point in my career. With this film, I’m hoping things take a turn in my career.”
The first schedule of Ponniyin Selvan will go on for about 40 days in Thailand. Apart from Arjun, Ponniyin Selvan boasts a star-studded cast including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Lal and Ashwin Kakumanu in significant roles. The film’s music is composed by AR Rahman.
Scripted by Mani Ratnam and actor-writer Kumaravel, Ponniyin Selvan is based on a Tamil novel by Kalki.
