As Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday (April 2, 2020) announced to a share a video message for Indian citizen, he has finally shared a video message today at 9:00 am. Prime Minister Modi’s video message came after the total number of Coronavirus cases has crossed 1 million mark globally. India has 2,069 coronavirus cases, including 53 deaths.
In his third address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we might be at home during lockdown but we are not alone as the collective strength of whole country is with each of one of us. PM Modi also thanked everyone for taking part in the fight against Coronavirus.
In his video message, Prime Minister Modi has asked citizens to move towards the light from the darkness created by COVID-19.
Prime Minister Modi urged people to switch off all lights for nine minutes on April 5 Sunday, at 9:00 pm and stand in their balconies or doors for 9 minutes with candles, lamps and mobile flashlight in their hands marking the march from darkness to light.
PM Modi also requested people to avoid gathering anywhere during the conduct of this programme. “You don’t have to go out on the streets and in the colonies, but do it from your doorsteps and balconies,” PM Modi said.
Since Coronavirus Pandemic became a series concern in India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already addressed the nation twice.
In his first address, PM Modi had called a one-day Janata Curfew and in the second address on March 24, he announced 21-days nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19.
At a meeting on Thursday afternoon with Chief Ministers of all the states, PM Modi asked for a common plan to ensure staggered movement of people after the national lockdown ends. “It is important to formulate a common exit strategy to ensure staggered re-emergence of the population once the lockdown ends,” PM Modi emphasised, urging states to come up with suggestions.
