PM Modi has hinted at a staggered lockdown withdrawal
CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray discussed the measures taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in Maharashtra with the Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi. PM Modi has hinted at a staggered lockdown withdrawal as it is important to formulate a common exit strategy for the population’s reemergence. PM Narendra Modi interacted with CM’s via video conferencing to discuss measures to combat the outbreak.

During his conversation with Maharashtra CM Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, a few key points stood out. CM Thackeray revealed that The State administration has managed to trace the citizens of Maharashtra who had participated in the Markaz organised in Delhi. They have been quarantined.
In addition, PM Modi agreed with CM Thackeray that it would be beneficial to reach out to religious figures across all denominations to ensure that there is no crowding and social distancing is observed. The Prime Minister also emphasized that the Maharashtra Government shouldn’t end the lockdown instantly on April 15. This process should be gradual and precautions should be taken to ensure that there is no crowding.
CM Uddhav Thackeray also informed that the State Government has set up 3000 camps across Maharashtra. The state government would be providing meals as well as shelter to 3.25 lakh people from other states. In addition, experts and doctors have been appointed to ensure good mental health of the people.
Moreover, the Municipal Corporation is training health workers and MBBS students from 4 medical colleges and nursing colleges are being prepared for special cells.
In conclusion, CM Thackeray informed the PM that if needed, a large space will be finalized for creating isolation and quarantine facilities for coronavirus patients.
